Ocena wartości ekoracyjnych sześciu odmian koleusa (Solenostemon scutellarioides) uprawianych w warunkach Olsztyna

Doświadczenie polowe z koleusami (Solenostemon scutellarioides) przeprowadzono w latach 2002-2004 w Ogrodzie Doświadczalnym Uniwersytetu War­mińsko-Mazurskiego w Olsztynie. W badaniach uwzględniono 6 odmian z grupy Wizard: 'Golden', 'Jade', 'Pineaple', 'Rose', 'Scarlet' i 'Sunset Orange'. Badane odmiany różniły się m.in. wysokością, szerokością, liczbą rozgałęzień oraz terminem zakwitania. W różnych terminach osiągały także pełen efekt dekoracyjny. Średnia wysokość roślin, w zależności od odmiany i roku badań, wynosiła od 16,5 do 36,3 cm. Większość odmian koleusów tworzyła dużo pędów bocznych, rozgałęziając się od podstawy (liczba pędów bocznych I-rzędu wynosiła od 7 do ponad 16). Zdecydowanie najsłabiej krzewiła się odmiana 'Pineapple', u której liczba pędów bocznych wynosiła średnio 5,2. Wszystkie koleusy z grupy Wizard zakwitały późno, zaobserwowano jednak wyraźne różnice odmianowe (wynosiły one nawet prawie 2 miesiące).

A field experiment with coleuses (Solenostemon scutellarioides) was con­ducted in the years 2002-2004 in the Experimental Garden of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. The research concerned six cultivars of the Wizard group: 'Golden', 'Jade', 'Pineapple', 'Rose', 'Scarlet' and 'Sunset Orange'. The examined cultivars differed, among others, in height, width, number of bran­ches and blossoming term. In addition, they achieved full decorative effect at different times. The average height of plants, depending on the cultivar and the year of research was between 16.5 and 36.3 cm. Most cultivars of coleuses grew many offshoots, branching from the base (number of leading offshoots was between 7 to over 16). Definitely, the poorest branching cultivar was 'Pineapple', whose number of offshoots was 5.2, on the average. All coleuses of the Wizard group blossomed late, however, significant differences between cultivars were observed (up to nearly two months).
