Results of the investigations were derived from the farm located in the mountain area (altitude of 630 m). They concern milk yield, costs and obtained revenue from its sale based on forages from the grasslands. In the summer the pasture was the only place for the cows upkeeping and the silage made from the grassses shrivelled in the foil bales was the basic forage in the winter period. The production costs of the pasture forage and the costs of the silage production charged every 1 1 of milk per year with the value of 0.06 zl and 0.20 zl, respectively. An average annual charge of 1 1 of milk with the forage production costs amounting to 0.26 zl with respect to 0.87 zl of the outlet price indicates that the production is highly payable.
