EN

It was found that in hens naturally infected with Mycobacterium avium the state of hypersensitivity and the presence of antibodies reacting with Tuberculognost antigen could range in the course of the disease. It could fluctuate from negative results in one test to distincly positive in the second test. Hens artificially infected with M. avium displayed during a period about 30 weeks a strong hypersensitivity to tuberculin while there was no agglutinins in some of the birds or their presence was only transient. It was proved that M. kansasi and M. intracellulare could induce in hens the state of hypersensitivity to tuberculin and the presence of specific antibodies during a period up to 28 weeks.
