These electron microscopic studies concerned the lung tissue of sheep in which it was previously found histologically that they had been infected with a slow virus of maedi disease. The morphologic changes in the cell structure observed proved to be characteristic ones for the progressive pneumonia caused by maedi-visna disease virus.
