Jej średnie stężenie, wyrażone w BZT5 i ChZT wyniosło odpowiednio 2000 g O₂·m⁻³ i 2600g O₂·m⁻³ .

The investigation aimed at examining a year-long effectiveness of the treatment of wastes from a small bakery in a sandy hydrophyte bed with vertical flow overgrown with reeds. Organic substance was the main pollutant in there wastes which were acidic and relatively poor in nitrogen and phosphorus. Its average concentration expressed in BOD5 and COD amounted to 2000g O₂·m⁻³ and 2600 O₂·m⁻³, respectively. The effectiveness of their removal depended to a large degree on the bed temperature. At the temperature of over 5° С it bore satisfactorily the load expressed in BOD, and COD within the limits of 90-100 and 120-130 g O₂·m⁻²·d⁻¹, respectively. At the temperature of 0-1.5°C the permissible loading of the bed expressed in BOD, and COD proved to be within the limits of 30-40g O₂·m⁻²·d⁻¹. The bed very effectively neutralized the acid reaction of wastes. Their pH at the outflow from the bed reached the values from 6.6 to 8.1. An average concentration of general forms of the suspension, nitrogen and phosphorus in the outflow amounted to 36 g·m⁻³, 16.9 2000 g·m⁻³, and 1.5 g·m⁻³, respectively, not exceeding the level acceptable for this type of wastes while draining them to the ground or water.
