During winter 2017/2018 Mistle Thrushes were counted in different habitats in the city of Bydgoszcz. A total of 112 birds were recorded at 102 sites within the area of 66.4 km2 (on average 15.5 ind./10 km2). Poplars Populus sp. were present at most (69%) sites, and they hosted 74% of birds. Most sites with thrushes were found in green and industrial areas of the city (42 and 29, respectively). Most occupied sites of those potentially available were recorded in green areas and areas of single-family housing (74% and 70%, respectively). Urban areas seem to be suitable for wintering Mistle Thrushes, despite food limitation. However, it seems that the increasing urbanisation may negatively affect the species numbers.
