Helminthologic studies were made on red foxes: 8 wild foxes from various regions of Poland, 3 from the breeding farm in Elbląg region and 5 from ZOO in Łódź; 24 species of helminths (table) were found. Helminthofauna of foxes from various environments was compared. Helminthofauna of wild foxes is the richest one, producing the highest intensity of invasion. The foxes from the Elbląg farm were fed on fish from Drużno lake which resulted in the incidence of Trematodes, absent from wild foxes. Three foxes were found to harbour Trichinella spiralis (Oven, 1835), this suggesting that foxes in Poland are an important source of trichinellosis. Attention is called to the incidence of Nemathelmintes (Enterobius) in these animals. As a result of examinations helminthofauna of red fox in Poland has been enriched by 8 species and Polish fauna by one species - Trichocephalus vulpis Froelich, 1789.
