Six pulsators of different coefficient values (63.5; 71.5; 79.5%) and interchamber difference (0, 8 and 16%) were used for milking cows. The milking machines were placed so that division of the pulsator parameters was longitudinal or transverse to the udder. The measurements were made in the barn by measuring the total milking time on 45 cows. The tests proved that the mode of placing the milking unit on the udder would exert a significant influence on the milking time. In milking machines with alternating pulsation the division of pulsator parameters should be transverse, the milking time being then shorter.
