In the first quarter of 1963, at the session of the Urologic Association in Warsaw, the author read his first report about the results obtained in the treatment of trichomonadosis with a new drug - Nystersol (Tarchomin Pharmaceutic Firm). The drug contains: oxyterracine 0.1, acetarsol 0.25, nystatine 0.03 (100,000 units), lactose 0.48, boric acid 0.04 and is being produced in form of small cakes. Nystersol was applied for 7-10 days in 37 women, twice in 24 hours, by intravaginal route with parallel oral administration of Aminitrosol (Polfa) according to routine measures. During this therapy, the paraurethral glands, urethra and urinary bladder were cleansed every 3d-4th day alternatively with one of the folloving solutions: mercuris oxycyanate 1 : 7000, mercurochrome 1 : 1000, cupric sulphate 0.25-0.5%, potassium permanganate 1 : 5000. Using the combined Nystersol, Acetarsol and cleansing treatment the cure was obtained in 51 out of 72 cases with trichomonadosis of the uro-genital tract. It is to be stressed that the treatment of women was paralleled by the administration of antitrichomonal drugs to their sexual partners, regardless of whether T. vaginalis was demonstrated or not.
