The rabbit immune sera prepared for Toxoplasma gondii, Trichomonas vaginalis and Leishmania tropica gave complement fixation cross reactions with the protozoal antigens. The immune serum prepared with antigen of bacteria present in Trichomonas culture was found to bind only the T. vaginalis and L. tropica antigens. The same 4 antigens were used to test the sera of 165 women with anamnesis suggestive of toxoplasmosis; 46 positive complement fixation reactions were obtained with Toxoplasma antigen, 49 with Trichomonas antigen, 14 with Leishmania antigen and 11 with bacterial antigen. The titres of sera which yielded positive results ranged from 1:2-1:8. Among 100 sera giving positive reactions with these antigens, 15 were found to react with the four , 14 with the three, 26 with the two and 35 with one antigen, this indicating unspecificity of reactions with such low titres.
