Zasadność stosowania leków roślinnych w chorobach układu oddechowego wynika z tradycji i w wielu przypadkach dobrze udokumentowanego działania.

The relevance of herbal medicine in respiratory system diseases is a result of the traditional use and, in many cases, well-documented activity of plant raw materials. In the present work the pertinent medicaments are divided into the drugs inhibiting cough and the ones with the opposite, that is expectorant activity. There are also presented raw materials of strong antibacterial activity and those inducing spasmodic effect on the smooth muscles of the respiratory tract.
