The process of methane fermentation of stillage was described in this article. Also the rheological properties of stillage and digested sludge obtained on the anaerobic digestion process of stillage was presented. The ratio between the shear stress and viscosity to shear rate has allowed define the tested liquids and plot a flow curve and viscosity curve. Based on the obtained results the mathematical model describing the flow curves of the liquid was matched.

Slop, a by-product of alcohol distillery, arises at processing the starch raw materials (potatoes, cereal grains) into spirit. Until now the greater part of slops produced in Poland was utilized as animal feed. However, significant changes took place in Polish agriculture within last years: the number of animal farms considerably decreased, thus the demand for distillery slops for feeding purposes was reduced. The other way of utilizing the slops in agriculture is their application as the fertilizers. Nowadays the other possibilities of the slop utilization apart from the agriculture are being sought. This paper reviewed some new conceptions of destillery slop utilization for non-agricultural purposes.
Fruiting bodies of oyster mushrooms was grown in medium containing wheat straw and stillage. Decoction used rye and potato. Growing medium inoculated homogenized myce- lium grown in liquid medium containing stillage. Yield of mushrooms in a medium containing rye decoction was 15,5%. In medium containing potato decoction was 13,3%. Yield was comparable to that achieved during the traditional growing oyster mushrmms. The content of heavy metals in the fruiting bodies was lower than permitted by applicable standards.
