Subject and purpose of work: The subject of the research were the profiles of links (internal and outbound ones) of websites of rural tourism facilities in Poland. The purpose of the study was to assess the scale of the link rot phenomenon and its impact on the quality of websites of rural tourism facilities in Poland. Materials and methods: The assessment of the link profile was conducted using the Broken Link Checker application. The websites’ quality assessment (the degree of their optimization for search engines) was conducted using three different applications which automate tests. Results: A total of 919 websites were examined. Broken links were recorded on 464 sites, where approximately 65% of them had only a few broken links. Broken links that referred to the description of an offer or social media accounts were particularly unfavourable. No linear correlation was recorded between the number of broken links and the website’s optimization for search engines. Conclusions: The research demonstrated that the scale of the link rot phenomenon was relatively small in the group of the examined sites. It seems, however, that this was not the result of conscious design measures or optimization.

Social responsibility as a means towards sustainability in timber industry. Concerns about social responsibility have become an increasingly high profile issue in many countries, industries and businesses. The forest industry is one of the most sensitive sectors paying the crucial role in global sustainable development due to its unique role in industrial development, globalization of economy and increase of social awareness about forest and timber business. The main purpose of the article is to approach theoretically the SR strategy in timber industry by taking into consideration legal and ethical, reputational and social points of view. The second - is to give a simple overview how SR is implemented by the Polish company registered in the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The website of companies registered on the Warsaw Stock Exchange is recognized as a reliable and valuable source of information due to the WSE strategy based on the principles of corporate social responsibility. As a main conclusion of the examination one may stress that although the data gathered in this article is not adequate enough the Polish timber industry does not perceive the sustainability as its major objective. The companies accept only legal requirements and standards. If they carry out socially responsible activities, it is due to a necessity to be visible and perceived as a liable organization.
Subject and purpose of work: The subject of the research were texts published on the websites of rural tourism facilities in Poland, and the purpose of the work was to assess their marketing quality. Materials and methods: The evaluation of the marketing quality of the texts was carried out using the web application Audyt Hekko (Blink) on a collection of 842 websites of rural tourism facilities. Results: Texts with a low (poor) marketing utility (as assessed by the testing algorithm) were found on 362 websites, which constituted approximately 44% of the set. Approximately 46.5% of the websites contained texts whose marketing utility was sufficient. Texts posted on 10% of the analysed websites were rated as useful for marketing. Conclusions: The semantic evaluation of the texts published on most rural tourism facilities websites has shown that they have been written in the language of benefits, with the use of phrases that may arouse interest and curiosity. At the same time, however, they required optimization and a greater marketing orientation.
Subject and purpose of work: The aim of the work was to evaluate the quality of the websites of agritourism farms in the Visegrad Group countries. Materials and methods: Evaluation of website quality was based on selected “site authority” measures, from the so-called SEO metrics: Trust Rank, Moz Rank and Page Authority, as well as measurement of the selected performance parameters of websites. The research was conducted on a group of 400 websites of agritourism farms, whose addresses were obtained from selected web directories. Results: In the case of as many as 331 sites (approx. 83%) Trust Rank lower than 1 point was recorded. The majority of tested websites are characterised by an average value of the Moz Rank index and a low value of the Page Authority index. The average time taken to load the website in the browser window for the first time was about 2.7 seconds, with as many as 68 (17%) websites being loaded in over 5 seconds. Conclusions: The tested websites are characterised by low values of the authority index, which may indicate poor quality, poor visibility in search results and a lack of recommendations from other valuable sites. Low index values may also mean that, despite the global potential, the tested websites have a merely local impact. Their existence is known to a small number of people and their Internet visibility is negligible or nonexistent. Websites published in such a manner do not fulfil their function.

The amounts of established measures were gained by means of SimilarWeb application. Results: In case of websites of agrotouristic farms from Poland, statistical data were available for 54 websites whereas for Slovak websites – there were 52 of them. There was by about 15.5% less number of views on the websites of Polish farms in contrast to Slovak ones, however there were Polish websites where users spent more time. In holiday months, tested websites had the highest viewer rating. Conclusions: Performed surveys brought a series of methodical questions. Gained statistics of websites’ usage do not tell much about differences in the Internet using rate in promotion of agrotouristic farms in Poland and Slovakia.
