The study aimed to elaborate a method of efficient selecting agricultural equipment for mechanization of technological operations in field crop production, according to assumed criterium. Author considered the criteria based on reduction of labour inputs, mechanical and electric energy inputs, cumulated energy inputs or minimizing the costs of equipment use. Ot was found that the method may be applied for optimization of technological operations in field crop production at following cases: -to evaluate occured labour inputs, mechanical and electric energy inputs, cumulated energy inputs and costs of equipment and material use in just performed processes (posterior evaluation), -to select correctly the farm equipment for mechanizing the operations in provided technological processes -to form the environmental conditions (simulation studies) - in that particular case the method may be considered as a complementary instrument for designing technological processes, -to correct the previous decisions on use of farm equipment when technological processes are being realized.
