Analysis of social and spatial accessibility of educational services in the municipalities of Plock district

The issue addressed in the present paper deals with spatial accessibility of the basic public education services, which is an important element determining the level of social development of a region and the quality of life of the residents. The current relevance of the topic is realated to the the amendments to the Act on Educational Law of December 14, 2016 introducing the liquidation of junior high schools and the return to 8-year primary schools. The designated study objects were the municipalities located around the Płock city hub. According to the National Strategy for Regional Development 2010–2020, these administrative units belong to the areas with high concentration of negative socio-economic phenomena, with low accessibility of public services, including educational services for residents, especially those in rural areas. In the study, a multi-index analysis based on spatial information from Local Data Bank (BDL) and Database of Topographical Objects (BDOT) was applied. Residential development areas and residential buildings located in the districts serving educational facilities were generated using the ArcMap software, which facilitated the determination of accessibility parameters. The results obtained from the performed analysis made it possible to present the diversification in the access to educational services in the municipalities of Płock district, and to determine the problem areas. The spatial approach to issues of social accessibility may also have a practical aspect for local governments, which make decisions on transforming junior high schools into primary schools, and which determine the location of new educational facilities.

W artykule przedstawiono wybrane aspekty oceny dostępności obiektów użyteczności publicznej dla osób niepełnosprawnych. W tym kontekście przedstawiono wyniki badań przeprowadzonych na grupie osób niepełnosprawnych, identyfikując bariery architektoniczne dla nich w obiektach użyteczności publicznej aglomeracji krakowskiej. Wyniki ankiet pozwoliły także zapoznać się z ogólnymi badanych w zakresie dostępności budynków dla osób niepełnosprawnych. Z uwagi na wagę i skalę problemu oraz znikomą liczbę publikacji na ten temat podjęte badania wydają się być jak najbardziej potrzebne i uzasadnione.

Tourism in Kampinos National Park in the opinion of visitors

Subject and purpose of work: This article analyses a survey of visitors in Kampinos National Park (henceforth also called Kampinos NP) in order to, among others, explore opinions on the most widely cultivated forms of tourist and recreational activity, as well as to learn about the expectations of visitors with regard to the management of the protected area in connection with the preparation of Park to ensure its accessibility for tourist and recreational purposes. Materials and methods: The study was carried out by the means of the diagnostic survey method, using a questionnaire as an instrument of research. The study group consisted of people visiting Kampinos NP. Results: For visitors, the Park terrain is an ideal place to practice mainly hiking or walking tours and recreational cycling. The park plays a significant role in primarily weekend tourism and recreation, providing a venue for recreational stays and several-hour walks taken by Warsaw agglomeration residents. Conclusions: The research showed that Kampinos NP is one of the best Polish national parks with regard to adaptations for tourism and recreation, as evidenced by one of the densest networks of hiking trails in the country and a wide offer range in terms of natural history and education. In the light of the conducted surveys it can be concluded that the areas of Kampinos NP are well suited for a variety of active tourism and recreation, and the main expectations of visitors focus on appropriate care for the natural environment and small business development.
