In search of a wrongly understood modernity at all costs, anything resembling traditional forms has generally been abondoned in Poland, to the point that the forms of native architecture have been displaced by borrowings. Their excessive spread has become a kind o foreing “quotation”. This leads directly to the loss of out architectural identity. These quotations, totally maladapted to our conditions, such as the climate, clash with the surroundings, that is, the landscape. The author stresses that there are enough remnants of Polish native construction to inspire architectural creativity consistent with the surrounding landscape.
