The inventory carried out in the 19th century historic park in Swadzim near Poznań recorded the total of 1886 trees, bushes and climbers deriving from 64 species. At the present time, the park is neglected and a plan for its revalorization is badly needed. Tree composition is dominated by Quercus robur, Robinia pseudoacacia, Acer pseudoplatanus, Carpinus betulus, Q. rubra and Fagus sylvatica, while that of bushes – by Sambucus nigra. The height of trees ranges from 16 to 20 m and their circumferences – from 45 to 114 cm; the health condition of the majority of trees is good or even very good. Single specimens of rare and threatened species were found to occur. The total of 101 splendid trees from 26 taxons were inventoried among which A. pseudoplatanus, A. platanoides, Aesculus hippocastanum, R. pseudoacacia and C. betulus dominated. In comparison with the Rataj’s inventory from 1976, transformations are apparent in the dendroflora of the park towards its naturalisation. The tree stand requires cutting and tending intervention.

Mostly parks and forest are the most important ‘green islands’ in urban ecological network. Urban forests are belong to green areas and collected many plant species. The main aim of the article was characteristic of ancient plant species in urban forests in Tarnów. The field studies were carried out in years 2011–2012. It covered 80 phytosociological records on the area 500 m2 in herb layer of urban forests and in forest nature on oak-hornbeam. The results showed that many ancient plant species were growing in urban forest but less than in nature reserves.

This paper presents the results of a detailed inventory of the historic manor park in Łęczna in the Lublin Voivodeship, conducted in the year 2011. This object is an example of combining elements of the eighteenth-century Italian garden with the nineteenth-century landscape park. The park area is 12 hectares. A user of the area is the King Casimir School. A detailed dendrological inventory of the park revealed 932 items, including 852 trees and 25 large groups of shrubs. Tree stand of the park in Łęczna is represented by 32 species and varieties of trees. In terms of numbers prevail: Tilia cordata Mill., Acer platanoides L., Fraxinus excelsior L., Carpinus betulus L. and Robinia pseudoacacia L. Rare species of the foreign origin are Acer platanoides ‘Schwedleri’, Acer saccharinum ‘Wieri’, Cladrastis lutea Rudd., Gleditsia triacanthos L., Platanus ×hispanica ‚Acerifolia’, Quercus macrocarpha Michx. and Pinus nigra J. F. Arnold. The possibilities and directions of restoration presented in this work are based on the collected data.

The object of the studies presented in this paper was the flora of field plantings of different origin. The vascular flora of the plantings examined comprises 254 taxons. including 53 trees and shrubs, and 201 herbaceous vascular plants. The flora is rich and diverse. In 26.8% of taxons it is presents in all types of plantings. More than half of the registered species occurs once or twice only in all 23 planting groups studied. A detailed analysis of the flora examined shows that field plantings in agricultural landscapes may, in a small number of cases, constitute a source of weeds diaspores propagating in fields.
