War cemeteries from the First World War in Małopolska Province, at that time called West Galicia, are crumbling due to lack of proper care and deliberate destruction. Since 1979 they have been systematically listed and restored by a team trying to counteract this trend. The team is provided assistance by the Bureau for Research and Documentation of Monuments and by the Committee for Scenic Photography of the Central Board of the Polish Tourist Association. The Austria Embassy and Austrian Black Cross have shown interest in the activities of this team.
