One of the most important tasks of the National Agricultural Research and Innovation Centre Institute of Agricultural Engineering (NARIC MGI) is to annually provide information on the evolution of agricultural machine operation costs in Hungary. Therefore, the Institute – in addition to other activities – monitors and updates changes concerning agricultural machinery through the use of operational data and values of basic farms on a yearly basis. The work results in the development and publication of a booklet which best summarizes the actual cost of agricultural work performed by different machines. It contains the average performance and cost of agricultural machines and equipment calculated by expected prices, wages, and other costs. In this article, our aim is to present the main results of the observation and summarize the main conclusions of traditional and organic farms in Hungary.
In the last two decades the amount of timber harvested in Poland has almost doubled. On the other hand, in some regions of the country a decrease in the number of people willing to work in the forest can be observed. In such a situation, multioperational machines like harvesters and forwarders are being more frequently used in skidding and logging process. These machines operate mainly in the short-wood system, in which large- and medium-sized timber is bucked out of the butt part of the stem in form of logs, while in four of sections in the top part. Buyers are reluctant to buy cut-to-length (CTL) timber because of the widespread belief that timber produced as logs has a greater volume in comparison with longwood one. This paper presents preliminary results of research on CTL logging of large-sized pine longwood timber. Volume and value of timber provided in form of longwoods and logs were compared. The study was conducted in The “Lasy Mazurskie” Forest Promotional Complex (N Poland). The analysis showed that volume of CTL timber is usually smaller compared with the longwood one by a few percent, while the value is larger by several percent.
Threat to the natural environment posed by technical objects, including agricultural machines, taken out of use is becoming an important problem in modern societies. Their management should be arranged through recycling. The recyclability of machines varies and at the stage of production ought to be determined and evaluated using appropriate methods. The methods used at present are either very complicated and difficult to use or over simplistic, so it is impossible to obtain objective evaluations. This study presents an original method to assess the recyclability of agricultural machinery, which takes into consideration the material composition and structure of machines, and partly eliminates the drawbacks of the methods used so far.
Cultivation machines meet resistance during their operation. Mostly the magnitude of resistance depends on resistance caused by tilled material. This study presents the results of the measurements of working resistance for a disc harrow U-239 manufactured by Akpil and a seedbed former and a cultivator with a string roller manufactured by Egedal. The tests were conducted on open tree nursery in Kłaj, being part of the Forest District of Niepołomice. Sandy-loam and loam-sandy soils prevail in the nursery. The measurements of resistance were conducted in three quarters with black fallow. The compactness and humidity of soil were determined (16-24%). Working resistance was determined by the hauling method with the usage of force strain gauge. The average value of working resistance for the disc harrow fit in the range between 2.25 kN and 2.82 kN, for the seedbed former between 2.35 kN and 2.53 kN, for the cultivator with string roller between 1.50 kN and 2.37 kN.
There are many machines, devices and production lines that are equipped with rotating elements (shafts, axes, spindles, trailing and drive wheels, etc.). Correct geometry of these elements ensures trouble-free operation, and, in the case of machine tools it decides about the correct geometric parameters of the manufactured semi-finished articles and products. In this respect, the newly manufactured and operated lathes are checked against the correct geometry of their parts which determine the location of the work-piece and the lathe and their movement These parts are geometrically correct if the errors of their geometrical shape (deviations) do not exceed values designated in the standards. The wearing of lathes reveals the so-called spindle run-out (deviation from circularity). These deviations are determined using mainly the workshop methods. However, due to the considerable sizes of machine tools surveying methods and new methods which use electronic and optoelectronic devices also apply. Authors of this work present the measuring set (which they designed and built themselves) which relies on the two-point fibre signalling device which is installed in the lathe spindle chuck jaws. The position of the signalling device during the lathe spindle rotation is recorded with CCD/CMOS digital camera, and the images are stored on the camera memory card. The aim of the presented research and experimental works was to determine the internal conformity of measurement results that were obtained using the designed and constructed measuring set, to check whether there is a correlation between the results obtained using the dial indicator and to analyse the accuracy of observations that were made using the test set. The designed measuring set enables to determine deviations from circularity during the lathe spindle rotation with the accuracy of ± 0.02 mm.

In paper the analysis of operating costs of machines was occured in agricultural farms grouped according to main type definite on ground of the Standard Gross Margin. It was ascertain that with growth of economic size of farm grow the operating costs of machines together. The smallest operating costs convert on 1 hectare of arable area occur in the Mixed crops - livestock farms. The largest operating costs of machines convert on 1 ESU bear the Mixed cropping farms.
