Emissions of gaseous and particulate pollutants of the air have given rise to a host of environmental problems on global, regional and local scales. Issues such as global warming, ozone layer depletion, acid deposition and urban air pollution have received considerable attention in recent years and have been the focus of major international research projects and collaborative monitoring programmes. In the last twenty years there has been a strong need for an integrated approach to air quality in urban and remote areas by developing environmental information technology. The most important international efforts in this field are presented in this review.

One of characteristic feature of contemporary data bases is their growing dynamics. The number of registered entities as well as their group structure tends to dynamically grow. In order to effectively determine the rapidly changing number and structure of clusters, appropriate methods of cluster analysis have to be applied. The paper presents the results of simulation research concerning the possibility of applying self-learning GNG neural networks in clustering data from data streams.

The paper aims to analyse the innovation process in the economy with the focus on agriculture and food production in Hungary. There was presented a model of production with the market-focused technology development system. The authors argue that the objectives of the system are as follows: inducing competition between input suppliers, increasing supply, loosening rigid trading structures, fostering the optimisation of mechanisation and ensuring the possibility of appropriate technology development. Harmonizing the subsidizing systems, optimizing their different incentive factors will become more precise and professionally more established and all these can contribute to optimizing the growth of innovations. In my work, I would like to develop the concept of a market place that is a marketplace and an innovation space at the same time, which can improve the conditions for the purchase of European agriculture, given the chance to expand production by improving profitability.

Bottled waters as a source of minerals

The aim of the study was to determine the content of minerals in bottled waters (natural mineral water and spring water) and compare the results with information declared by the manufacturers. Nineteen types of bottled natural waters available on the local market were examined with flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The results of analyses of bottled waters available on the market showed significant differences in the concentration of the minerals. These differences depended not only on type of the water but was found within one type of product. In addition, the concentrations of the cations under study differed significantly from the values declared by the manufacturers. The biggest discrepancy was detected in the concentration of magnesium ions; in this case, the actual content was incompatible with the declared by the manufacturer one in about 80% of tested samples. These results give also valuable information for consumers, which should be conscious that not every bottled water, it is alike valuable source minerals.
