Housing conditions largely affect the standard and quality of life. The problem connected with housing conditions is an important social issue for each country due to its socializing, economic and social functions. Having in mind the importance of apartments in terms of the population security and stabilization, the authors of this paper have made an attempt to present the housing situation in Poland through an analysis of regional diversification of housing indexes. Additionally, subjective assessments of housing conditions by the population of provinces: the Kujawsko-pomorskie, the Mazowieckie and the Warmińsko- -mazurskie, have been presented. These studies were carried out using the method CAPI. Based on the analyses it was found that housing resources and conditions in Poland are significantly poorer as compared to those in Western Europe and the disproportions can be noticed throughout the country.
The objective of this study was to determine the quality of meat from pigs housed on litter and in litterless pens and fed during the fattening period (from 48 kg to 105 kg bw) complete diets and complete diets supplemented with green forage. Hybrid growing-finishing pigs [♀ ( ♀Polish Landrace x ♂Polish Large White) x ♂( ♀Pietrain x ♂Duroc)] were divided into 4 experimental groups, each of 12 animals. M. longissimus dorsi samples were collected from pig carcasses for an analysis of proximate chemical composition and physicochemical properties. It was found that the applied feeding and housing conditions had no significant effect on the chemical composition and quality of pork (m. longissimus dorsi).
As people spend most of the time in closed spaces (flats, workplaces, schools etc.), the indoor air has been researched for many years all over the world. Particulate matter (PM) is one of the most often examined pollutants in the indoor and outdoor air. The following study presents the facts about PM in closed spaces and the most often taken actions. The least known aspects related to the indoor air pollution with PM are demonstrated. The indoor space of various service and office buildings/facilities (not related to production, i.e. offices, shops, beauty parlours, restaurant kitchens, restaurants, pubs etc.) seem to be an unrecognized area in the air pollution studies. Importantly, a great number of people work in such spaces all over the world and thus spend there a large part of their lives.
