The aim of performed work was to determine the influence of herbicides applied during vegetation period on quality and health of winter wheat grain. Grain of 4 cultivars of winter wheat (Smuga, Zawisza, Kobiera and Nadobna), harvested in 2006–2008 was investigated. The experiment was performed in Field Experimantal Station of Plant Protection Institute in Trzebnica. During plant growth performed the application of the herbicides: Glean 75 WG at dose 25 g/ha, Kantor 050 SC at the dose 0.1 l/ha, Atlantis 04 WG at the dose 0.4 l/ha + Atpolan 80 EC at the dose 1.0 l/ha, Axial 100 EC at the dose 0.3 l/ha + Chwastox Extra 300 SL at the dose 3.0 l/ha. The control was untreated crop. Herbicide application in two years of experiment decreased the number of total fungi occurring on grain. However, it did not affect quantity of Fusarium genus fungi, which were the most numerous in the season with the highest rainfall. The herbicide effect on grain quality (thousand grain weight, hectoliter weight, falling number, total protein content and germination capacity) were various depending on weather conditions. However, with respect of falling number and germination capacity grain was not sensitive to herbicides, apart from weather conditions.
