The properties of biaxially oriented PET films as a component of laminates and laminates with the share of these films are discussed. The significance of laminates with the share of metallized PET films characterized by high barrier properties and economics in their use resulting from the ultra thin, in the range of hundredths of a micrometre, Al layers on the metallized film ensuring also the savings in the use of an energy-consuming raw materiell, is underlined. Observed problems connected with delamination appearing with users in particular in the processing of laminates with the share of metallized and interlayer printed films are signalled. It made the ground for carrying out a series of tests concerning the delamination resistance in such laminates. The methodology used in these tests and obtained results will be presented in successive publications.
