The aim of the research was to investigate the nutrition pattern of children with phenylketonuria. The research was conducted among 13 children - 4 boys and 9 girls - at the age of 9-16 years, the patients of Clinic of Paediatrics, Hematology, Oncology and Endocrinology of Medical Academy in Gdańsk. The methods was based on the survey consisting of 18 questions as well as on the anthropometric measurements such as the height and weight of the patients. It was found that 60% patients has eaten the proper quantity of the food recommended during the days. However, incorrect eating habits were seen in case of eating up selection of nutritive product and soft drinks. All in all, the diet errors were caused by increased self - reliance of the patients during their adolescence. The proper diet habits ought to be developed from the early years and be constantly sustained.
W artykule omówiono możliwości wykorzystania właściwości technologicznych i zalet żywieniowych hydrolizatów białkowych. Mogą one być wykorzystane jako dodatki poprawiające właściwości funkcjonalne produktów spożywczych oraz jako źródło łatwo przyswajalnego azotu w wybranych artykułach spożywczych oraz preparatach dietetycznych i leczniczych.
