This paper comprises results of research on variability of electrical energy consumption in fruit and vegetables processing plants. The influence of various factors on the electric energy consumption was defined. Some selected causes were explained underlying the variability of a coefficient of electrical energy consumption per unit of output while taking into account adopted technical, technological, and other factors. Empirical formulas were obtained that may be applied in the definition of environmental standards and of best available techniques.
The project of prediction models was developed in the Data Miner graphic environment, which allows one to determine the hourly electric energy demand for an agricultural and food industry plant. Whilst using data mining techniques, it is not necessary to know apriori the form of the theoretical model of the examined phenomenon; it is also not necessary to meet the assumptions, whilst it is possible to model very complex processes.
Subject and purpose of work: The purpose of this work is to present the problem of municipal waste management, and its use for the production of electric and thermal energy. Materials and methods: The information used is derived from the CSO publication for 2015 in the scope of the data on municipal waste and electric energy per province. To establish the rankings of provinces, the method of zero unitarisation was applied, whose task is to bring various variables to the state of comparability with different titres and orders of magnitudes; and then the results derivedfrom the two rankings were compared. Results: The rankings of provinces with respect to the state of waste management and obtaining electrical energy in Poland in 2015 were presented. These rankings are characterized by a significant degree of similarity. Conclusions: Regional differentiation in individual Polish provinces in 2015 is relatively moderate.
Crucial factor stimulating renewable energy development, quite apart from fast exploitation of natural resources of coal, gas, oil or uranium is the threat represented by conventional energy waste products such as sulphur, nitrogen and carbon monoxides as well as ashes. Renewable energy resources are not only sustainable but as naturally bound up with environmental processes are highly pro-ecological. Generating energy from renewable resources is in comparison with traditional ones much more environment-friendly mainly via limitation of harmful substances especially greenhouse gases. The article presents current level of harvesting energy from renewable resources in selected EU countries taking into account various forms of those renewable. Compared to European data the situation of renewable energy sector in Poland was presented.

The continuity of electricity supply to consumers located within the territory of individual Distribution System Operators in Poland was analysed. A concentration analysis was also performed, which allowed for the separation of Distribution System Operators who are similar in terms of the indices related to electricity supply interruptions recorded in 2010. These were divided into four groups.
Celem pracy było określenie struktury zużycia energii w procesie oczyszczania ścieków w zakładzie przetwórstwa owocowo-warzywnego o średniej wielkości. Badaną oczyszczalnię ścieków z zakladu przetwórstwa owocowo-warzywnego podzielono na część mechaniczną i biologiczną. W każdej określono procentowe z użycie energii elektrycznej przez poszczególne urządzenia. Znaleziono zależność między ilością zużywanej energii a objętością oczyszczanych ścieków.
