The spectrophotometers used in prints colorimetry may be equipped with different physical filters. Standard conditions for color measurement of overprints are specified in norm ISO 13655. However in many cases, e.g. in ink formulation for printing on substrates of different gloss or different optical bleaching agents content, in measuring colors of prints with special inks, as well as in spectrodensitometry, it may be purposeful to use other filters. In article a few different physical filters and their recommended fields of application were presented. The results of spectrophotometrical tests with four physical filters on different substrates, process and spot colour solids were included. An article presents essential differences between spectral reemission curves for substrates with different optical bleaching agents content. On the basis of measurement results taken with different filters, the color changes of tested surfaces depending on their gloss level were determined.
