The loading of natural and anthropogenic soils can be determined in the field by using dynamic probing tests. This method is based on the measurement of the resistance, which the studied soil poses on the probe tip when it penetrates the soil. The most typical probe tips are cylindrical, conical and rarely cross-shaped. The penetrometer penetrates the soil by a hammer with a given mass freely falling from the height required in the test. The penetration resistance is defined by the numbers of blows required to drive the penetrometer over the defi ned distance (Nk), where k = 10, 15(20) or 30 cm. The paper presents the results of heavy dynamic probing tests DPH with a hammer mass of 50 kg and penetration depth up to 30 m, carried out in an anthropogenic made ground in order to determine the soil loading for the foundation of the designed building.
Celem niniejszej pracy była ocena możliwości wykorzystania technicznych pomiarów gęstości do szacowania składu chemicznego mięsa. Mieszaniny modelowe uzyskiwano przez wymieszanie rozdrobnionego chudego mięsa wieprzowego (mięsień najdłuższy) z tłuszczem (słonina). Analizowano mieszaniny o różnym stopniu rozdrobnienia – 10, 4 i 2 mm. W poszczególnych układach wymieniano 10% mięsa na składnik tłuszczowy, uzyskując, poza próbkami mięsa i tłuszczu, 9 mieszanin (o stosunku wagowym mięso/ /tłuszcz odpowiednio 90/10, 80/20, 70/30, 60/40, 50/50, 60/40, 70/30, 80/20 i 90/10).
The effect of the annual growth and the late wood share upon density of the Polish pine wood as a function of its origin. In the paper the variations of density of Polish pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) in a function of the late wood share in the annual growth with regard to the wood origin are presented. The measurement of density of wood was performed by using the stereometric method described in the works by Krzysik. This method consists in measurements the volume of the sample by determination of the various dimensions (length, width, height), and weighting of the sample mass. Nevertheless, measurements of the late wood share in the annual growth had been carried out according to own methodology which based on the classical method described in the work by Krzysik. The comparison was made for pine from natural forests derived from four different regions of Poland. The effect of the share of the late wood on the density Polish pine wood is observed. However, Pearson‘s r correlation coefficient values depend strongly on the examined wood origins.
