Project management becomes one of the key tools for achieving strategic business goals. Increasingly, it refrains from the classical model of „training“ and focused on tools of computer-aided project management or project management methodologies. The systematic development of project culture in combination with long-term development of project management competencies with the international certification, and consulting comes to the fore. It points to a specific business solution. At present, the greatest interest in internationally accredited training programs, for example for the Europe IPMA® methodology, for the USA PMI® methodology, or for the UK PRINCE2® methodology. They bring a guarantee of quality and performance of the company – a project manager with the competencies and professional qualifications – the business professionals. The paper is focused on brief of the requirements of the project management knowledge – competencies for managing project or the equivalent from another accredited certification authority.
The article discusses direct and indirect aspects of brewing production in German companies registered with EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme). It also includes a classification of pro-environmental activities in breweries by individual aspects, i.e. water, sewage, waste, energy and noise. The presented data result from the analysis of environmental statements of the studied breweries. The analysis indicates that the implementation of EMAS by the studied breweries has encouraged companies to introduce projects and investments which have contributed to a reduction of their negative impact on the environment and to a more economical use of a number of factors of production. Consequently, there has been a decrease in production and distribution costs.
Stocks are one of the most important elements in every production organization. Experience shows that reduction of stocks leads to increasing productivity . That is the reason why low stock level is a good indicator of an economically sound company.
Wood pellets are a high comfortable homogeneous fuel, which is wonderfully wellkept and it regulates the heat. Heating using wood pellets is a real alternative to normal (fossil) fuels and comfort is close to heating with natural gas. The main aim of the paper is to present the possibilities of calculation method in wood processing industry in Slovakia specializing in the production of wood pellets.
In this article the relationship between Total Supplier Management and product recall is presented. Survey results will confirm that Total Supplier Management (TSM) is an important success factor of Product Recall Management (PRM). Based on a survey on quality assurance and product recall management in automotive, the different group opinion on market positions and the importance of major aspects of quality assurance and product recall management has been analyzed. In result, the importance and details of total supplier management compared to quality assurance and product recall management could be correlated. This information has been derived step by step and by means of direct auto-correlation techniques. Both motivation and hindering factors for supplier integration are discussed, and it could be shown that good total supplier management helps reduce costs and product faults improving collaboration. TSM has a positive effect on current and future preparedness for quality assurance and product recalls, and will be an absolute necessity for distributed modern markets.
Information on the favourable forecast concerning economic growth for many organizations constitute a stimuli for a more radical investment policy. The article aims at pointing factors which have an impact on the level of innovation in the companies from the wood sector as well as determining the opportunities and chances which are open for those being active on the market.
Management of logistics as a subsystem of business management starts to use more comples tools as BSC, ABC and SCORmodel. This paper shows onthe necessity of change the system of company´s managing on process managing what is necessary condition for the above mentioned tools application.
The paper illustrates the introduction of ecological innovations by a Polish company operating within the rendering industry. The investment resulted not only in the management of large amounts of waste, but also enabled their re-use, thus contributing to environmental protection. However, this is not the only effect of the investments. An improved innovative production process enabled the company to improve its financial situation and, consequently, to gain the position of one of the leaders in the rendering industry in Poland. The methods applied in the research included a descriptive method, a case study method, a personal interview and ratio analysis of financial statements from the examined company. The study used data and materials provided by the company.
The first step in the process of reducing risk is naturally their analysis. Risk analysis is largely seen as a process of defining threats, likelihood of occurring of these factors, and impact if they appear, thus determining the risks and their severity. The paper shows how it operates.
This paper presents the theory of interpersonal conflict. It discusses various definitions related to the core conceptual category of a conflict, occurring within an organization (company, enterprise). Typology of interpersonal conflicts in an organization, based on different criteria, was reviewed. Detailed description of beneficial and harmful conflicts, as well as major differences between them, were provided. Particular attention was paid to the circumstances of these conflicts, with special focus on the importance of the organizational culture.
The panel of financial data from the biggest milling companies in Poland is used in the article. In the polish milling branch there is a lot of factors which exert influence on the productivity change of the companies, This factors are mentioned in the article. The approach which was used in the article is the DEA-based Malmquist productivity index. The index is a useful tool in economics. It can be estimated by using a non-parametric method - Data Envelopment Analysis. This approach permits including of all inputs and outputs which can have an influence on the productivity. The DEA-based Malmquist index allows to calculate indices of total factor productivity change (TFPC) and to decompose it to: TE (technological change), TEC (technical efficiency change) and SEC (scale efficiency change).
In the article determination of the commodity policy concept is considered. The main task of the article is to present all necessary terms of commodity policy and its determinants. As well the basic problems about creating of the companies of sugarbeet subcomplex has been outlined. Expandable of assortment of sugar plants is considered, including production of bagasse, molasses and biofuel.
