Leptus villosus Mihelčič, 1964 is a junior secondary homonym of Leptus villosus (Berlese, 1910); Leptus errabundus nom. nov. is proposed as a replacement name for L. villosus Mihelčič, 1964. Leptus calvatus Mihelčič, 1958 is a junior primary homonym of Leptus calvatus Willmann, 1951 ; Leptus incertus nom. nov. is proposed as a replacement name for L. calvatus Mihelčič, 1958. Leptus diversus Mihelčič, 1958 is a junior primary homonym of Leptus diversus Mihelčič, 1958, Leptus furibundus nom. nov. is proposed as a replacement name for L. diversus Mihelčič, 1958. Leptus diversus var. variatus Mihelčič, 1958 is raised to the species rank. Abrolophus longipes (Schweizer and Bader, 1963) comb. nov. is a junior primary homonym of Abrolophus longipes (Willmann, 1951) comb, nov.; Abrolophus baderi nom. nov. is proposed as a replacement name for A. longipes (Schweizer and Bader, 1963).
Male, female and nymph of Balaustium xerothermicum sp. nov. are described. Key to the Polish species and data on distribution and ecological requirements are given.
Opisano sześć nowych gatunków larw z rodzaju Leptus: L. ursyni /Chile, żywiciel: Scotobius planatus Er. - Tenebrionidae/, L. stefani /Kolumbia, żywiciel: Ptychoderes sp. - Anthribidae/, L. mariani /Brazylia, żywiciel: Stolas festiva /Klug./ - Chrysomelidae/, L. olafi /Kolumbia, żywiciel: Ataitula ho- ffini - Cicindellidae/, L. alberti /Brazylia, żywiciel: Homophoeta personata Illig.
Balaustium murorum (Hermann, 1804) is redescribed. Characteristics of active postlarval forms and first characteristics of larvae, supplemented with data on biology of the species, are provided. Female of B. murorum, from which larvae were obtained by experimental rearing, has been designated as neotype. Key characters, hitherto used by different authors in order to distinguish between members of Balaustium are discussed. Seventeen species known from larvae are presently assigned to Balaustium, at the total number of 41 members of the genus known worldwide.
Abrolophus norvegicus (Thor, 1900) is redescribed. An extended diagnosis of Abrolophus Berlese, 1891 (= Hauptmannia Oudemans, 1910) is provided for all active life instars. Description of larva of A. norvegicus is based on specimens obtained by experimental rearing from field-collected females. Variability of morphological characters is evaluated for offspring of a single female, within a particular population and between different populations originating from Europe. The specific status of A. norvegicus is discussed. A female of A. norvegicus, collected in northern Germany is selected as neotype. Hauptmannia silesiacus Haitiinger, 1986, syn. nov., Abrolophus neobrevicollis Zhang et Goldarazena, 1996, syn. nov., Hauptmannia striata Saboori, Šundic et Pesic, 2011, syn. nov., Hauptmannia dagmarae Haitiinger, 2012, syn. nov. are considered synonyms of Ritteria norvegica Thor, 1900. Data on habitat specificity and phenology of A. norvegicus as well as on its development are given.
Dambullaeus piae gen. n. and sp. n. (Acari: Prostigmata: Erythraeidae) is described from Sri Lanka.
Abrolophus schweizeri (Evans, 1952) comb. nov. is redescribed basing on holotype. Diagnosis and description are supplemented with standard measurements, not considered in original paper. Morphological structures, not included in original description, are figured. The taxonomic status of the species is discussed.
The following species are described as new: Erythraeus (E.) sifi n. sp., E. (Z.) didonae n. sp., Bursaustium gaspari n. sp. from Turkey, Charletonia alvedae n. sp., Balaustium medardii n. sp., Yucothrombium ilzae n. sp. from Peru and Allothrombium wolmari n. sp. from Poland. Three new genera are created: Rudaemannia n. gen., Bursaustium n. gen. and Yucothrombium n. gen. Erythraeus kresnensis, Charletonia cardinalis, Podothrombium proti, Allothrombium fuliginosum and A. triticium are new to the fauna of Turkey; Hauptmannia wratislaviensis is new to the fauna of Scotland. New localities in Poland are given for H. stanislavae and H. silesiacus and in Turkey for Rudaemannia rudeansis. Charletonia tamarae is synonymous to C. bucephalia; Hauptmannia victicola is synonymons to R. rudaensis.
Kamertonia gen. nov. is described from Poland and compared with all World genera of Erythraeinae without so-called cone-like setae on palptibia and palpgenu. K. polonica sp. nov. is described from Poland as an exclusively psammophilous species connected with sand dunes and sand beaches.
