Growth regulators used in the experiment had a mixed effect on morphological features of twinspur (Diascia barberae L.) plants and their response depended on type and concentration of applied retardant and on the cultivar. In the cultivar ’Diastu’ the biggest number of shoots was found in plants treated with daminozide at concentration of 2550 mg‧dm⁻³ and with 700 mg‧dm⁻³ chlormequat. In cultivar ’Diastara’ a bigger number of shoots, in comparison to control plants, was formed by plants under the influence of daminozide at concentration of 2550 mg‧dm⁻³, flurprimidol at 3.75 mg‧dm⁻³ and chlormequat at 700 mg‧dm⁻³. Most abundantly flowering plants were produced under the influence of chlormequat applied at concentration of 700 mg‧dm⁻³.
