Spray liquids proprieties (dynamic, static tension, contact angle) of herbicides and growth retardants mixture were better in their activities in comparison to undividual components of spray liquids. The effectiveness of herbicides applied with retardants dependend on active ingredients of herbicide. They provided similar or better weed control of Apera spica-venti compared to treatments with herbicides used alone. Mix application of fenoxaprop-P-ethyl with growth regulators better reduced winter wheat height and crop lodging than propoxycarbazone sodium used with CCC or PCa and growth regulators used alone. The additive effect of the fenoxaprop-P-ethyl and retardants influence was affirmed on the basis of conducted investigations on the winter wheat stalk height. The mixtures of herbicides with growth retardants did not have any negative influence on winter wheat plants cultivar Korweta.
Field experiments with spring barley cultivar Justina were conducted in 2010–2011. The tested products (Regalis 10 WG, Modus 250 EC, Antywylegacz Płynny 675 SL, Cerone 480 SL) were applied on spring barley at the stage of BBCH 32. The height reduction of spring barley was dependent on active substances of growth regulators and weather conditions and it carried out 0–5.6% (2010) and 1.6–11.5% (2011), respectively. The higher effectiveness of shortening stems of spring barley was obtained after the use of Cerone 480 SL at the dose of 0.75 l/ha. There was no difference in stem shortening of spring barley caused by Antywylegacz Płynny 675 SL used alone in comparison to untreated plots. Mix application of growth regulators used at a reduced dose by 50% with the adjuvant Slippa gave a higher reduction of stem height as compared to the retardants used alone. The way of application of growth regulators did not influence the yield of spring barley and other parameters of yield component. The growth regulators used alone or in mix application with adjuvant Slippa did not caused any injury to spring barley cultivar Justina.
The field experiments with spring barley cultivar Justina were conducted in 2010–2011. The tested products (Regalis 10 WG, Modus 250 EC, Antywylegacz Płynny 675 SL, Cerone 480 SL) were applied on spring barley at the stage of BBCH 32. The height reduction of spring barley was dependent on the active substance of growth regulators and weather conditions, and it was 0–5.9% (2010) and 1.6–9.8% (2011), respectively. Higher effectiveness of shortening stems of spring barley was obtained after the use of Cerone 480 SL at the dose of 0.75 l/ha. In two years of investigation lack of statistic differences between growth retardants prohexadione-Ca, chloromequat chloride and ethephone regardless of pH spray liquid. Lower pH of spray liquid containing trinexapak ethyl showed better efficacy (shorter stems and lower lodging) in comparison to plots on which trinexapak ethyl on neutral pH was used. The examined growth regulators did not cause any injury to spring barley cultivar Justina. Acidity of spray liquid containing growth regulators increased the yield of spring barley in comparison to untreated plots and plots on which growth regulators were used in neutral pH.
