This article contains a methodical proposal of volume of output forming, giving consideration to raw material and various assortment of wood materials limited availability and restriction to market absorption according to particular products from company’s offer. Methodology takes into account influence of restrictions on volume of sold production, fulfilling minimal volume, described by break-even point.
In the era of rapid changes, both economic and social, not only issues related with price and quality are becoming important for consumers, but also aspects connected with widely understood ecology. It is worth to pay attention to eco-innovation in the construction industry that promotes the use of natural raw material such as wood.
In the era of global economic crisis, the issue of bankruptcy is becoming more important. Since 2007, growth of the insolvency of companies in many countries around the world was significantly increased. This crisis has also affected the Polish economy. Due to the significant role of the wood industry, this article examines the phenomenon of bankruptcy in Poland, with particular emphasis on this sector.
Beech round wood value pricing in sawn timber processing. This article contains an attempt to verify the applicability of the raw wood pricing formula in sawn timber processing. 7 beech trees have been selected and cut down, with the breast height diameter around 40cm, quality control in the forest has been done and after wood manipulation and delivery of logs to the sawmill they were again classified. Both, forest and factory graders assessment overlap. After cutting for sharp edge sawn wood on the boards (38 mm), they have been classified and measured. Round wood valuation has been done, according to its grades, on the basis of yield of boards and the market price. Results showed high profitability of lower grades wood processing, because advantage of the calculation value over market prices is clear.
Insulation boards from thermoplastic bonded bark. Within this work, boards from thermoplastic bonded bark were made. Grinded bark of coniferous species and recycled polyethylene were used. Four variants of boards were manufactured: three of varying polyethylene weight ratio: 30, 40 and 50%, and fourth UF resin bonded. Assumed density of boards was 300 kg/m3, and thickness of 18 mm. Manufactured boards were examined for density, thermal properties, MOR, and swelling. Research has shown that production of insulation boards from PE bonded bark is possible. With the increase in thermoplastic weight ratio, thermal insulation of boards decreases, and their mechanical properties increases.
Strength properties of structurally reinforced plywood. The study determined the degree of improvement of mechanical properties of 19 layer beech plywood with a thickness of 10 mm by introducing two layers of structural reinforcement in the form of aramid, glass and carbon fabric. For manufactured plywood, density, static bending strength and modulus of elasticity in static bending, toughness strength and impact bending strength were examined. It was determined, that the use of carbon, aramid and glass fabrics bonded with epoxy glue for structural reinforcement of plywood, has positive effect on strength parameters. The best results of improvement to the strength parameters of plywood is achieved by inserting two layers of carbon fabric.
