Impact of soil pollution with sulphur on metal toxicity to plants was studied in series of microplot and pot experiments. The crops investigated were com and oats. Soil pollution with sulphur greatly enhanced the impact of metals on plants reflected in growth and yield reduction and destruction of cell membranes in roots and passive uptake of metals causing plant death.
