The beginnings of transport biofuels in Poland reach early XX century. Legal regulations related to transport biofuels are constantly changing, especially in the last decade. Directive 2003/30/EC in 2011 replaced by Directive 2009/28/EC (currently in changes) has been implemented into polish legislation in mid-2014. The production capacity of the sectors of transport biofuels, far exceeds the demand for biofuels and are used to a small extent (25% bioethanol, 60% biodiesel). As a result of the latest law regulations, some new opportunities and barriers in the implementation of production technologies of the 2. generation transport generation in industrial scale appeared.
