Influence of moisture and pressing device heating on shape stability and quality of unevenly pressed aspen wood surface. In this paper we deal with influence of moisture and pressing device heating on shape stability and quality of unevenly pressed aspen wood surface. We used software „PROFIL“ for identification of shape stability, which helped us to determinate deviation of sectional area. Quality of surface was evaluated by roughness change, which was investigated with roughness device. This roughness change was figured in percentage. Another indicator of surface quality was portion of cracks on embossed face, which was investigated by software „SURFACE“.

The article is oriented at investigation of beech veneer compression by cyclical pressing. We selected different methods of cyclical pressing (procedures A, B, and C), which differed in pressing and releasing of compressive force. Also we selected different initial moisture content of veneers (8 % and 16 %) and pressing temperature (20 °C, 100 °C, 150 °C). We investigated veneer thickness and its change after pressing at degree of pressing of 30 %. All selected factors influence veneer thickness significantly.

In our paper we have concentrated on determination of the influence of plastification on changes of properties of aspen wood for the purpose of its shaping. We were concentrated on the bendability, density and the stability of compressed wood.
