Control of taeniarhynchosis with various preparations is discussed, a high effectivity of Yomesan (ca. 85%) and prasiquantel (100%) being indicated. The prasiquantel is also very effective in the treatment of hymenolepidosis (ca. 85%), and useful in treatment of some cases of cysticercosis and echinococcosis.

The author quotes the results of treatment with piperasine adipate of Oxyuriasis and Ascariasis. He applied the afore said preparation, giving it to five groups of persons infested with Enterobius vermicularis. In the I group, which counted 100 persons, the medicine was given in 3 curative cycles of 7 days with weekly breaks, the dose being 30 mg/kg of the body weight every 24 hours. As result of such a treatment 73 per cent of cases proved to be cured. In the II group, counting 200 persons, in which the invasion of parasites was very intensive or where the conditions of the surroundings were favourable to further infestation the medication was similar to the one applied in the former group, except that during 8 or 10 weeks piperasine adipate was given in supporting doses twice a week, the ratio being 20-30 mg/kg every 24 hours. In the III group composed of 100 patients the drug was given in the same way as for patients in group II but the first cycle of the cure we.s prolonged to 10 days. The results were 85 per cent of persons cured. In the IV group piperasine adipate was also administered as in group II but in the first week of the treatment the dose of the preparation was rised to a ratio of 50 mg/kg. 88 per cent of the patients were cured. Group V passed the same treatment with pipernsine adipate as group II, with addition of an enema applied once per day and composed of a solution of piperasine in a ratio of 20 mg/kg in 200 ml of warm water. The result was 94 per cent of cured persons. In order to prevent itching in the anus or to make it milder the author suggests application of wadded suppositories embalmed with 4 per cent anaestesine unguentum during the whole period of the cure. In the treatment of Ascariasis the author gave the patients belonging to the first group piperasine adipate during 7 days, the dose ratio being 30 mg/kg. The results obtained were 94 per cent of cured. In the II group the preparation was administered in a dose ratio of 50 mg/kg. every 24 hours, the results of the cure bting 98 per cent. Administration of the drug in Enterobius infestation proved to be inefficacious.

Taking as the basis the data available in the literature the author discusses the frequency of the occurrence of lambliosis in Poland. As evident from the data about 5,5 per cent of the inhabitants of our country is infected with L. Intestinalis. Next the author described the pathological lesions which may appear in the course of lambtiosis and reaches the conclusion that. L. intestinalis can be regarded as a parasite of pathogenic properties. In the concluding notes of his report the author points to the necessity of mass control of the invasion with L. intestinalis.
