Pest control of the oilseed rape is too expensive in Poland. Spraying is done frequently with no economic reason. Economic threshold for most of the pests has to be corrected. The damages done by such pests like Ceuthorrhynchus napi, C. pallidactylus and Meligethes aeneus are compensated by plants. Good cultivation, good soil and favorable climatic conditions can drastically increase the level of compensation. Beneficial insects typical for the oilseed rape plantations can reduce sharply the main pest's populations. The wide integration of plant protection methods going toward IPM system is necessary. Local plant protection seivices have to be skilled and equipped for a new style of work.
