In the papers are characteristic informations about corporate culture, communication and motivation of the employees. In the next part of feature it describes and compares two plants in non-profits sphere and their communication and motivation between employees.
This article deals with wood processing industry and their characteristics in Slovak republic. Firstly, we define the position of WPI in Slovak industry and then we analyze this industry through chosen indicators. Then, we compare competitiveness of this industry via RCA 1, RCA 2 and Michaely index.
In the long term, there are no alternatives to an environmentally compatible mode of production and consumption. Global warming, the loss (depletion) of stratospheric ozone and tropical forests, marine pollution and soil erosion, world-wide air pollution and the world-wide loss of biodiversity can no longer be denied. Only if every individual adapts his or her activities to the limits of our environment, can the targets presented here be achieved. In the debate on consumption patterns in industrialized societies it is assumed that at least 30 to 40 percent of all environmental problems can be traced back directly or indirectly to current consumer behaviors and one of many tools to eliminate this problem is also benchmarking. Benchmarking is a process where companies compare their performance over time against their competition. You'll find there are areas where you are better than most. You'll also see areas where significant improvement is available.
One of the aims of maintenance services in modern enterprises is to achieve certain production efficiency. As a result of processes during the operation, component parts or elements of machines may wear and lead to shutdown of work. Thus, the achievement of necessary efficiency is obtained by proper planning of machine operation. The applied preventive approach – prevention rather than repair - requires the use of certain methods of failure analysis. The FMEA methodology adopted in the context of machines assessment is presented in this thesis. The case study is an assessment of selected components of the wood chaff cutter, in case of which operational reliability depends on identified factors. The Machinery FMEA allowed to create a list of potential sources of failure, which was especially useful to plan the range of service during inspection, a list of spare parts, the potential shutdowns caused by not applying to occupational safety and health rules were also emphasized.
The thesis contains proposals concerning evaluation of internal auditors for quality management systems compliant with ISO 9001, taking into consideration the specificity of timber industry enterprises. It is a concept considering both the requirements determined in ISO 19011 standard, as well as knowledge gained through experience in auditor valuation. Due to its particular character it may be used without changes, or may be modified depending on peculiarity of the given enterprise as far as scope of auditing is concerned.
The paper presents pilot implementation of 6S method at the cross-cut and mesh circular saw stationin one of the Sub-Carpathian enterprises producing furniture. The company within the strategy focuses on key clients and specializes currently in kitchen furniture production. The increasing demands of customers necessitate a continuous improvement. Within the works the 6S method was implemented. The presented implementation can also be used as a teaching deployments in other jobs in the industry.
In the current situation the economic activity of wood processing companies is largely determined by the quality of the raw material. Production processes, skilled workers or similar organization rules do not allow for a significant competitive advantage. That is why the issue of supply logistics, and more specifically the assessment of supply, is the key point in the assessment and qualification of suppliers. One of such developing plants is the Wood Processing Plant located in the village near Dębica in the south-eastern Poland. The need to meet the high expectations of overseas customers forced the plant to develop a supply assessment procedure. The design of such procedure has been presented in this study.
The article attempts to use AHP method to support decision-making process about the purchase of the timber forwarder. The essence of the article is to present the methodology of the procedure, and not the best or worst tractor. Based on pair comparison it is relatively easy to get help in making decisions. Therefore, this method should be used for selection of e.g. forest tractors with similar prices and specifications.
The paper indicated an example of solving traffic problems using mathematical tools. At present, logistic processes increasingly affect the overall cost of the enterprise. Part of the logistics processes is transport in the enterprise or transport as a element of the goods distribution.
In the paper a pilot implementation of the FMEA method in the production of kitchen furniture in one of the Sub-Carpathian companies manufacturing furniture has been discussed. The company within its strategy focuses on key customers, and their needs require to specialize in manufacturing of kitchen furniture. Growing customers’ requirements necessitate a continuous improvement. As a part of this work the tools of Lean Manufacturing have been implemented. Now it is high time to implement the FMEA method. The presented implementation can also be used as an instruction for the improvement in other processes of the company or in the industry.
In enterprises there are many systems of management. Their preparation and implementation requires extensive specification and the introduction of the certification process. The individual certification of each system is expensive and labor-consuming. More efficient is to create and certify the integrated management system. Such systems cover most often quality management, management of environment and occupational safety management and are applied in coal mines.
The paper present results from use of 5S method. Maintaining a good market position is the key issue for companies. It depends on many factors, but mainly on the quality of products, its availability for the customers and the ability of adapting to variable surrounding conditions. The execution of the production tasks is directly connected with the organization of the company, especially with the organization of the machine park.
