There is an increase of consumer demand for health and convenient food. Such wants may be answered by fruit and fruit-containing products. The prophylactic role of fruit juice (especially unclarified apple juice) and red wine has already been proved. New products in the fruit sector are fresh and minimally processed, especially new tropical species, dried and frozen fruits, new types of juice, fruit confectionery, sports and energy drinks, and fruit containing alcoholic beverages. World trends in development of new fruit products are stimulated by the needs of consumers, who are willing to pay more for convenience and health.
