The progress in knowledge in the field of environmental protection (sozology) that has taken place in recent years revealed the impact of packaging over the whole its life cycle. Therefore, in logistic supply chains, in which packaging plays a significant role, the adjustment to the requirements fixed in currently legally binding regulations should be provided and also higher standards focussing on the search of technical, material and organizational solutions showing minimum environmental impact should be introduced. In all areas of the supply chain management the principle of responsibility for the natural environment condition should be applied.
