Two staphylinid beetles are recorded from Poland for the first time: Carpelimus heidenreichi BENICK, 1934 from Męćmierz near Kazimierz Dolny and Husynne near Hrubieszów, and Carpelimus similis (SMETANA, 1967) from Męćmierz near Kazimierz Dolny (CE Poland). First records of another 7 species of Carpelimus from Podlasie, Lubelska Upland, Roztocze and/or Sandomierz Lowland are given.
Eighteen species of Bledius have been recorded from the Podlasie, Lublin Upland, Roztocze and Sandomierz Lowland (E Poland). Some of them (B. crassicollis, B. defensus, B. femoralis, B. pallipes, B. procerulus, B. agricultor, B. pygmaeus, B. terebrans) are very rare in Poland, and most of them are new for these regions. Some data on their enviromental preferences and life cycle are also provided.
Philonthus micantoides Benick et Lohse collected in Klarów, Milejów, Jaszczów, Białka near Lublin (Wyżyna Lubelska) and Korhynie near Tomaszów Lub. (Roztocze). Gyrophaena williamsi Strand collected in Zawadówka and near Długie Lake in the Poleski National Park. Both species are new to the Polish fauna.
New localities for 50 species of Staphylinidae from Podlasie region, Lublin Uplands and Sandomierz Lowlands (E Poland) are given. Some of them are rare in Poland, and all the collected species (except of Haploglossa gentilis (MÄRKEL)) are recorded for the first time from the regions.
The paper presents the results of a faunistic research on the family Staphylinidae (Coleoptera) carried out in the Polesie National Park. It concerns only the socalled big rove-beetles, so actually the staphylinids belonging to the tribe Staphylinini. In the years 1992-1996 and partly in 2002, 435 specimens belonging to 61 species were collected. Among them 16 species were recognized as new species for the Lublin Upland, 10 species new for the Podlasie region and 56 new for the Polesie National Park.
Thinobius flagellatus LOHSE, 1984 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae), a staphylinid beetle new to the Polish fauna, was found (24 specimens) on a sandy bank of the river Bug on 17 V 2001. Locality: Kamieńczyk near Wyszków (Mazovian Lowland, Central Poland). Figures of penis and spermatheca of T. flagellatus are presented.
Stenus pseudoboops PUTHZ, a staphylinid beetle new to the Polish fauna, was found (5 males) on 30 VII 1998 on the high moor, in the ecotone zone between the small water body and the surrounding peatbog. Locality: Góra Kowlikowa (UTM EB90, 22.24E 50.38N), near Janów Lubelski (eastern Poland). Figures of habitus and aedeagus of S. pseudoboops are presented.
Gyrophaena obsoleta GANGLBAUER collected in Białka (Wyżyna Lubelska) is new to the Polish fauna. Records of 39 species, new to Wyżyna Lubelska (the Lubelska Upland), are also given.
Philorinum sordidum STEPH., a staphylinid beetle new to the Polish fauna, was recorded from Gródek near Hrubieszów (UTM: GB03, SE Poland).
New records of 41 species of Staphylinidae from Podlasie, Lublin Upland, Roztocze and Sandomierz Lowland (E Poland) are given. Some data on the biology of Stenus kiesenwetteri ROSENHAUER are provided.
