In 2010–2011, the Sośnicowice Branch of the Institute of Plant Protection – National Research Institute conducted field and laboratory evaluations designed to test the potential use of insecticide Mospilan 20 SP (acetamipride) in tank mixtures with fungicides Impact 125 SC (flutriafole), Sparta 250 EW (tebuconazole) and Tebu 250 EW (tebuconazole) to protect forming pods and seeds of winter oilseed rape. In relation to the control, both the tested insecticide and its tank mixtures with the fungicides provided a significantly better control against Ceutorhynchus assimilis, caused an increase in the number of fully-formed pods and reduced the number of winter rape pods damaged by larvae of C. assimilis and Dasyneura brassicae, the fungus Botrytis cinerea and Alternariagenus fungi. Two tank mixtures tested in 2010 and all tank mixtures tested in 2011 caused significant increases of seed yield in relation to the control yield. The results of the physical and chemical analysis and a lack of visible phytotoxic effects allow for use of the tank mixtures in a broad range of agricultural practices.
This study provides the results of research conducted at the Sośnicowice Branch of Institute of Plant Protection, which analyses the influence of number of sprayings with certain insecticides on the effectiveness of control aplied against pollen beetle (Meligethes aeneus F.) and cabbage stem weevil (Ceutorhynchus pallidactylus Marsh.) and yield of winter oilseed rape plants in conjunction with weather conditions occurring during the experimental period. Plots were sprayed once or twice with following insecticides: 2008 and 2009 – Decis 2,5 EC (deltamethrin), Mospilan 20 SP (acetamiprid), Proteus 110 OD (tiachloprid 100, deltamethrin 10), 2010 – Mospilan 20 SP, Proteus 110 OD, Karate Zeon 050 CS (lambda-cyhalothrin 50). The crucial factor for the control applied against pollen beetle and cabbage stem weevil on winter oilseed rape was air temperature spread during budding, which, along with long-term duration of certain insecticide treatments was a decisive factor affecting the effectiveness of control applied against various stages of development of cabbage stem weevil. The type of insecticides used and weather conditions after spraying were the crucial determinants for the amount of seed yield obtained.
At the Institute of Plant Protection – National Research Institute, Sośnicowice Branch, in 2009–2010, the studies were conducted on the efficacy of the insecticide Proteus 110 OD (lambda-cyhalothrin) and its tank-mixtures with fungicides – Impact 125 SC, Orius 250 EW, Sparta 250 EW, Tebu 250 EW against cabbage seed weevil (Ceutorhynchus assimilis Payk), brassica pod midge (Dasyneura brassicae Winn.) and fungal pathogens (Alternaria spp., Botryotinia fuckeliana) during flowering growth stage of winter oilseed rape. All tested mixtures provided a significant control against C. assimilis and D. brassicae pests and fungal diseases of winter oilseed rape pods. In comparison with the control, tested mixtures had also a significant impact on the increase in seed yield in the experimental plots.
