The paper deals with the deformation of spruce wooden members loaded in bending and heated by a radiation heat source. The wooden members were loaded by a constant force and the radial surfaces were heated from both sides. According to the results obtained the bending strength of the heated wooden members with the same cross- sections was higher for the strengthened members with carbon lamellas. The fire resistance of wooden members strengthened with carbon lamellas increases because the carbon lamella as well as the epoxy resin adhesive are not damaged due to high temperatures. The relationship between deflection and time of heating can be described by an exponential function for wooden members strengthened with carbon lamellas as well as for unstrengthened wooden members. The contribution continues with the paper presented in: Annals of Warsaw Agricultural University. Forestry and Wood Technology Special Number I. 2002. p.132-136. ISSN 0208-5704.
