Modern nonwoven filter fabrics covered with a microfiber layer make it possible to carry out surface filtration. A dust cake forms only on their upstream side and influences the air flow resistance across the filter. The mode of formation of the flow resistance caused by such a fabric during the separation of very fine wood dust particles was the subject of a comparative investigation using a homogeneous, standard nonwoven filtering fabric. The experiments carried out in a pilotscale pulse-jet bag filter enabled a detailed description of the increase in pressure drop across the dust cake formed during filtering cycles repeated hundreds of times.Based of the results obtained the difference in this filtration parameter betweenpolyester-based nonwoven filter fabrics with a standard and a layered structure with microfiber was also shown.
The influence of the air humidity on the formation of pressure drop in processes of the filtering separation of wood dusts. Pressure drop during the filter- cleaning of air from wood- dusts are subject to the strong influence of the moisture contained in cleaned air. On the ground of results of the enlarged scale research with the utilization non-woven fabric KYS-series PROGRESS the considerably higher pressure drop during the cleaning of air with the moisture 85% was ascertained. In these conditions the stabilization of pressure drop follows considerably more quickly than at the moisture 45%.
The efficiency of the cleaning of air on filter- materials with the layer of micro fibres. Research on the dedusting efficiency with the use of non-woven fabric KYS series FINESS in conditions of the variable speed of filtration showed the lineal increase of this efficiency along with the duration of the dedusting process. It was ascertained the very high efficiency of the cleaning of air from most small particles of the beech wood dust.
The particle-size analysis of wood dust created in the process of milling self-locking longitudinal joints was conducted in this research. High risk of dust particles harmful to the health is present on the wood machining positions. This threat occurs in the abandonment of the proper procedures for selection of dust collection equipment. There is a need for continued research on the quality of wood machining and its relationship to the threat to the health of workers due to the processing parameters and the type of material being processed.
Influence of pulse-jet cleaning frequency on filtering separation of beech wood dust. The article presents the results of investigation on the efficiency of dust detachment from the nonwoven filter media. For estimation of the dust release property of these media the coefficient IR was used. The dust release from the filter surface depends on the fabric finishing, pulse-air pressure and cycle time.
Filtering separation of pine wood dust under variable conditions of intensity of pulse-jet cleaning. The paper deals with the cleaning efficiency of the filter bags. Intensity of pine wood dust layer detachment is lower than at the beech wood filtration. It is a result of differences in size and shape of dust particles formed at working different kinds of wood.
