The study was aimed at testing whether the repetition priming was influenced by affective valence of visual stimuli. Neutral and emotionally negative words and images were shown in the right or in the left visual field. Each of the stimuli was repeated twice, with 2 to 4 other stimuli presented between repetitions. The subjects' task was detection of a stimulus. Responses were given by index finger of the left or right hand. The task was the same for all stimuli, the new and the repeated ones. Reaction times were measured and analyzed. The effects of repetition priming were significant only for neutral stimuli: repeated items were detected faster than the new ones. For emotionally negative items, generally no priming was observed. Interestingly, new emotionally negative stimuli were detected significantly faster in comparison to neutral stimuli. The results are discussed in relation to attentional processes involved in processing of affective stimuli.

An attempt has been made to assess the effect of decade temperatures in 5 separate agropheno- phases on the yield of winter rape, separately for wheat and rye soil complexes in 7 regions of the country. The authors give the coefficients of multiple regression, linear and quadratic, interactions, the rates of increase or decrease in rape yield per 1 °C deviation per decade from mean temperatures in the agrophenophases under consideration, as well as the optimum temperatures and maximum yields than can be obtained under these conditions.
The question of whether unconscious processing is involved in the detection of one’s own image has yet to be answered. In recent studies, an automatic shift of at‑ tention toward this stimuli was shown. Here, based on a theoretical framework of bottom up visual selection, we predicted the emergence of N2pc component (neu‑ ral marker of attentional shifts) in conditions where conscious identification of one’s own face was preclud‑ ed. This hypothesis was tested in a dot‑probe paradigm with masked and unmasked pairs of faces (other and self) coupled with electrophysiological (EEG) record‑ ing. The validity of the masking procedure was veri‑ fied by a sensitivity measure (d’), t(17)=1.57, p=0.135, 95% CI=[‑0.07, 0.5], BF=0.68. A clear N2pc was found in both masked (t(17)=‑2.34, p=0.031, 95% CI=[‑0.48, ‑0.03], d=‑0.55, BF=4.07) and unmasked (t(17)=2.91, p=0.01, 95% CI=[‑0.87, ‑0.14], d=‑0.67, BF=10.71) tasks, which indicates automatic allocation of attention towards self‑face in both unconscious and conscious conditions. This supports the notion that the self‑recognition pro‑ cess has a strong unconscious component and sheds new light on the ongoing debate regarding the disso‑ ciative nature of attention and consciousness.
