State of preservation analysis of the wooden construction of the Holiest Sacrament altar in the right wing of the transept in the Holy Cross Church in Warsaw. The altar structure was scrutinised. A number of errors in the construction were found, starting with the foundations and ending with the lateral elements of the altar. It has been recommended to monitor the structure and to eliminate the existing structural errors.
Chosen mechanical properties such as MOE, load capacity and bending strength were determined for I-joist made of solid pine wood and OSB. I-joist were reinforced using gang nail strip under bottom flange. Results show that reinforcement of I- joist isn't so efficient as reinforcement of beam made of solid pine wood.
In the paper results of load capacity gang nail joints test are presented. Joined members were made of birch and alder LVL and of solid pine wood. The higher load capacity was obtained for joints members made of LVL birch. The lowest result were for joints of solid pine wood.
Local concentration of stresses as a result of the notch in different positions to the bottom surface of bending solid timber beam based on numerical analysis in Solidworks Simulation environment. The study investigated the phenomenon of local concentration of stresses in the bent timber beams weakened by the opening. Weakness in the timber simulate knotholes or decayed knots. It was found that the value of local concentration of stresses and stress concentration factor depends , i.a., on the strength of the bending load, crosssectional dimensions of beams, as well as the size and location of the opening in relation to the bottom surface of bending beam.
Influence of the length of CFRP tape reinforcement adhered to the bottom part of the bent element on the distribution of normal stresses and on the elastic curve. The paper analyses the influence of reinforcements made of CFRP tape on the distribution of normal stresses and on the elastic curve of a wooden beam that is being bent. It was a numerical analysis made in the Solidworks Simulation environment. The local reinforcement of the element permitted to reduce the elastic curve by up to 20% and to reduce the maximum normal stresses by 80% in the proximity of the opening, by using a 50 cm long CFRP tape. It has been concluded that CFRP tapes may be useful for local reinforcement of the tensed areas of bent wooden beams that are weakened due to openings produced by knots that fell out or rotted.

The hardness and wear resistance tests of the wood species most frequently used in flooring panels show that hardness is closely related to wood density, whereas the correlation of wear resistance is lower, with a very high coefficient of variation.
