Paper analysed the data and information gathered at the survey conducted in 2000 on the number of 3927 farms. During interview, the farmers were asked about their opinion on the consequences of Polish integration with the EU. The analysis of collected information confirmed that farmers' beliefs were closely related to the economic condition of their farms and the incomes of agricultural families. The acceleration of the concentration processes in agriculture and the modernization of its structures were mentioned as the benefits of Polish integration with the EU. At the same time, the forth-coming changes create threats linked to difficult financial situation of the farmers operating on small farms and to a lack of jobs for the people that would have to leave the agricultural sector.
