In the years 2007–2008 in field experiments conducted at the Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute, Department of Seed Science and Plant Protection in Bonin the effect of tubers cutting and dates of seed dressing (before sprouting, before stimulation and before planting) on emergence rate, infection by Rhizoctonia were estimated. The efficacy of three pesticides (Dithane Neo Tec 75 WG, Monceren 250 FS and Prestige 290 FS) in field experiments was tested. Negative influence of tuber cutting and seed dressing on potato plant of emergence rate was not observed. The seed dressing significantly decreased potato plant number infected by Rhizoctonia solani. A profitable influence of seed dressing before planting on tuber yield was observed independently on true way of tuber preparation (whole and cut) and dates of application.
