Badania przeprowadzone w latach 2002-2005 w laboratorium kultur in vitro Katedry Roślin Ozdobnych SGGW w Warszawie dotyczyły nasion oraz siewek storczyka europejskiego - podkolana białego Platanthera bifolia (L.) L. C. Rich. W pracy zbadano wpływ skladu pożywki, jej stężenia i regulatorów wzrostu na kiełkowanie sterylnie wysianych nasion, a następnie na wzrost siewek i przeżywalność roślin przeniesionych do warunków ex vitro. Nasiona w różnym stadium dojrzałości wysiewano na pożywkę MS o zmniejszonym o 1/3 stężeniu makroelementów, z dodatkiem BA (0,5 mg‧dm⁻³) i NAA (1,0 mg‧dm⁻³). Większą liczbę roślin udało się przenieść do warunków in vivo, gdy sadzono je do podłoża w końcu lutego, niż gdy przenoszone były do warunków ex vitro jesienią.

Investigations on seeds and seedlings of the European terrestrial orchid Platanthera bifolia (L.) L. C. Rich. were carried out in 2002-2005 in the in vitro laboratory of the Dept. of Ornamental Plants, WULS. Their aim was to determine effects of medium composition, its concentration and presence of growth regulators on germination of the sterilely-sown seeds and successively, on growth of seedlings and their survival after transferring under in vivo conditions. Seeds in different stages of maturity were sown on the MS medium with its macronutrient concentration diminished by 1/3, and enriched with BA and NAA. Seeds needed darkness for germination. Unripe white seeds germinated better than the brown ones. For the further seedlings growth two media were used: 1/3 MS and that according to Vlasinova, both enriched with either yeast extract or coconut milk. Citric acid was added to 1/3 MS to avoid browning of protocorms. The latter modification of the MS medium provided the best conditions for seedlings growth. More plantlets survived after their transfer under in vivo conditions when they were planted out in February than in the autumn.
