Fungi from Fusarium genus infect the plants throughout the entire vegetation season and cause varied symptoms, such as crown rot, plant wilt and withering, and in the spears to be used for consumption it causes spots and rusting. Protection of asparagus against these pathogens is difficult and requires the treatments already during production of seedlings. The application of natural preparations during seedling production is one of the potential methods protecting asparagus against infestation with fungi from Fusarium genus. From among the agents recommended for application in ecological agriculture Biochikol 020 PC and Biosept 33 SL were selected to the experiments. The effect of these preparations was assessed in vitro on mycelium growth of different isolates of Fusarium culmorum, F. oxysporum f. sp. asparagi, F. proliferatum and F. solani. These fungi were isolated from damaged asparagus spears, with numerous rust spots. The effect of tested preparations on health of young asparagus plants of cv. ‘Andreas’ was also assessed in a growth chamber. The action of preparations towards isolates of analyzed Fusarium fungi varied. On PDA medium with Biosept 33 SL mycelium growth of most isolates was observed to be inhibited. In the growth chamber Biochikol 020 PC was more effective in the protection against infection by Fusarium fungi.
